Wichita Public Golf Courses are currently transitioning fairways at four of the five golf courses from cool season to warm season grass. The transition will lower pesticide and fertilizer applications and reduce water requirements, creating better, stronger and more consistent playing conditions for golfers.
"During the beginning stages the fairways may not meet the standard our golfers are accustomed to but the final result will be improved conditions by the end of summer," Troy Hendricks, the Golf Division Manager, said.
