City of Wichita officials are asking residents to share their thoughts about parking and transportation in Wichita at a public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 5:00 p.m. at the Wichita Art Museum. The Open House will be an opportunity for stakeholders to share their experience with the parking and mobility system in Wichita, including how they move around Wichita, where parking and mobility challenges exist and their impression of multi-modal options (modes of transportation outside of personal vehicles) in downtown.
The City of Wichita has partnered with the Wichita Metropolitan Area Planning Organization to develop Wichita Parking and Multi-Modal Plan. The planning process is a civic process to identify community goals related to parking, the desired relationship and role of parking to multi-modal transportation, and recommend actions to help achieve community goals. In addition to the open house, stakeholders are encouraged to complete the online public survey about parking and transportation. The information collected through the engagement process will help inform the development of the Wichita Parking and Multi-Modal Plan.
The public meeting will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Wichita Art Museum located at 1400 Museum Blvd. Children are welcome, and light refreshments will be served. More information about the planning process is available on the Wichita parking webpage www.wichita.gov/parking.
