The District II Advisory Board will conduct interviews for the interim District II City Council seat during a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at the Rockwell Branch Library, 5939 E. 9th St., Wichita, KS 67208.
The District II DAB can submit up to five names for City Council members to consider at the Jan. 8, 2019, City Council meeting. A majority council vote will determine who will be the interim District II Council member until the seat is permanently filled in the November 5, 2019, election.
Candidates for the temporary term of office were required to submit a petition containing not less than 100 signatures of qualified electors who reside in Council District II.
There were seven valid petitions submitted. The following individuals will be interviewed by the District Advisory Board:

Daniel Rutherford
Charles Schmidt
Becky Tuttle
The vacancy was created when District II Council Member Pete Meitzner was elected to the Sedgwick County Commission in the November election.
