The community is invited to join hundreds of fellow volunteers in removing tons of garbage from downtown area waters on May 4 at the 18th annual Arkansas River Trash Roundup.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, May 4, at 151 North Waco (on the southwest corner of Waco and North 1st Street).
The goal for 2019 is to have more than 800 volunteers collect more than two tons of trash.
Participants will receive a free t-shirt (while supplies last), trash bags, gloves and grabbers between 8:30 am and 9:00 a.m. at North 1st and Waco streets.
- Volunteer community service hours will be validated on site.
- Free transportation will be provided from the registration site to the river and back for the cleanup activities.
- After the cleanup, starting at 11 a.m., a free lunch will be served including grilled burgers from Cargill, hot dogs, chips, cookies and beverages.
