Two local photography exhibits will premiere from 5-8 p.m. for the First Friday art crawl on October 4 at CityArts, 334 N Mead.
“Feathers and Talons,” a collection of 85 photographs by Crystal Socha and Michael Scheufler, showcases a group of bald eagles that winter in the Great Plains through many stages of life, from being an eaglet in a nest, through the juvenile stage, into adulthood. “Feathers and Talons” is on display in CityArts’ Main Gallery and the artists will be present to lead a discussion at 7 p.m. on First Friday.
A “learn to draw an eagle” worksheet and paper will be available in the Main Gallery for attendees to draw their own eagle, along with an informational sheet listing many attributes of eagles.
“Souvenirs,” a collection of photographic work by Jeff Hetler, will be on display in the Boardroom Gallery. Artwork by local home school students taught in collaboration with Butler Community College’s Integrated Learning Through the Arts program will be on display in the Balcony Gallery.
