Summer Activity Camps has ended for the 2019 season.

It's five days of non-stop fun! Take your child to a neighborhood camp so they can stay connected with friends. Summer Activity Camp is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and is open to children ages 6-13. Registration for camp starts March 1 by appointment only!

  • Colvin & Evergreen camp is offered from Tuesday, May 30 - Friday, July 28
  • Brewer runs camp is offered from Monday, June 5 – Friday, July 21
  • Lynette Woodard camp is offered from Monday, June 5 – Friday, July 28

On-Site Activities

With the assistance of many on-site presentations from community partners, campers will experience a variety of lifelong learning opportunities such as cooking along with mentoring on financial education, gang awareness and reading. Of course the summer wouldn't be complete without a few field trips, swimming, games, crafts, movies and other fun recreational activities.

Field Trips

Off-site field trips are scheduled at various locations throughout Wichita. Past trips have included Watson Park, Sedgwick County Zoo, Carousel Skate Center, All Star Adventures and swimming at the Wichita Public Pools.

Staffing

All site directors have a Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience in recreation, education or related field. All staff members attend training each year in compliance with the KDHE regulations. Ratios of 1 counselor to 15 children (1 counselor to 20 children at Woodard) are maintained at all times.
