Creating Togetherness

Naftzger Park is a vibrant outdoor space at Douglas Ave. and St. Francis in downtown Wichita. This centralized green space facilitates the free flow of visitors, residents and event goers to downtown Wichita. With beautiful grass, a stage (Evergy Pavilion), large digital screen, water/splash element, walking and sitting spaces, a dog run, shops, restaurants and outdoor dining availability, Naftzger Park is seeking to create togetherness in downtown Wichita. We invite you to enjoy your time with us!

Naftzger Family

While known primarily as bankers in Wichita, Kansas, the Naftzger family has always been a strong supporter of city growth, modernization, and the arts in our midwest city. The original Naftzger Park, built and named for M.C. Naftzger in the late 1970s as a bequest from the Naftzger family, was created as an urban renewal project. Its original .88 acres was envisioned as a charming, Victorian-style piece of green space that would serve as a downtown draw for middle-class residents and visitors. The park’s initial old-fashioned design was specifically created to serve as a key attraction of the city’s emerging “Old Town” district over 40 years ago.

Looking Forward

For decades, Naftzger Park has been an iconic spot in Wichita. While we cherish the preceding space and what it brought to our city, we’re thrilled to be a part of Naftzger Park’s reinvention. If you have questions or would like more information about Naftzger Park, contact us.
