Open Streets ICT Champions

Open Streets ICT was first held in September of 2017, where nearly 14,000 people attended making it a highly successful event. It was at this time organizers realized the importance of thanking and highlighting key people and organizations who are helping Open Streets grow (more than 30,000 in attendance in 2023) and continue to be successful.

Open Streets ICT has created its Championship Belt award to be given out each year displaying the previous year’s winner(s).

Congratulations to all of our Championship Belt winners past and present, we could not do it without you!

2020

Though Open Streets was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers still wanted to highlight the 2019 recipients. This year the Sedgwick County EMS and Wichita Police Department were recipients of the Championship Belts. Sedgwick County EMS provides excellent service ensuring all participants and volunteers are kept healthy and provide aid stations along the four-mile course. While the Wichita Police Department assists with blocking of roadways and directing traffic making the streets truly open to bikers and walkers.

2019

In 2019, KAKE-TV received the award for providing up to date stories and advertising to further event attendance and recognition.

2018

In 2018, Naama Marcos with Visual Fusion Graphic Design Studio, Wichita was the recipient of the belt. Naama and the Visual Fusion team were crucial in creating the event, organizing, and branding Open Streets ICT for what it is today.
