ATTENTION: Recreation staff modified Summer of Discovery camp dates (June 1 – July 30) in order to implement policies and procedures that will provide a safe environment for staff and program participants. In addition to these procedures, camp field trips may change or be canceled dependent upon reopening guidelines, social distancing and public gathering requirements. Updated: 1/25/2021

​Program Dates & Hours

  • Camp runs June 1 - July 30
    Monday - Friday from 7am-6pm
  • Core activities take place 9am-4pm

​Age Requirements

  • Summer of Discovery is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and is open to children ages 6-12

Staffing

  • All site directors have a Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience in recreation, education or a related field. All staff members attend training each year in compliance with the KDHE regulations. A ratio of 1 counselor to 15 children is maintained at all times.
