Central Northeast Area Plan Update

The Central Northeast Area Plan Update (CNE Area Plan) was developed by twelve neighborhood associations, two housing development organizations, and other area non-profits to guide the revitalization of the area. The CNE Area Plan provides the vision for the revitalization of the CNE Area community and serves as a toolbox for area neighborhood associations, including action items that provide step-by-step project guides and contact information for local resources.

Following the adoption of the CNE Area Plan in 2005, the Central Northeast Council of Neighborhood Associations (CNAC) was formed to implement the Plan. The CNAC consists of the presidents, or their appointees, of the fifteen neighborhood associations located within the Central Northeast Area. The CNAC meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 6:30pm at the Atwater Neighborhood City Hall, 2755 E 19th St.

The current focus of the CNAC is to implement the following initiatives:

  • 7.1 Actively Involve Youth in the Improvement and Revitalization of the Area;
  • 4.1 Encourage Community Policing and Neighborhood Watch Activities;
  • 4.2 Improve Neighborhood Lighting;
  • 3.3 Address Neighborhood Nuisances and Code Violations

The officers of the Central Northeast Area Council of Neighborhood Association are as follows;

  • Kim Hamlin
  • Mike Barushock
  • Patricia Fields
  • Willie Burton
