Crime Gun Intelligence Center
The Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) is a collaboration between the Wichita Police Department (WPD), the Bureau of Justice Administration (BJA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and Wichita State University (WSU).

The CGIC was established in 2019 and is stationed at the WPD Training Academy located on WSU's innovation campus. This state-of-the-art technology allows WPD to compare shell casings collected at crime scenes and provide further testing on them to help lead to arrests.

Addressing gun-related violence remains a priority for the WPD and success relies upon working with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners and the community in pursuing those who commit firearm offenses.
