The Miracle League of Wichita provides an opportunity for players with disabilities to join an athletic league with their peers participating in a variety of sports. The Miracle League of Wichita offers seasonal sports such as bowling, kickball, baseball and swim team. All registered athletes will receive a team jersey and some awesome swag. Every athlete will be partnered with a Buddy to assist during the game. The team commeroderie between athletes and families is truly special and one of kind! Get your athlete started in Miracle League today!

Kickball

The Miracle League of Wichita provides an opportunity for players, ages 5-21, with disabilities to play kickball at Miracle Field in Orchard Park. With a specially designed rubber surface field, the Miracle League makes dreams come true for individuals with special needs.

All registered players will receive a uniform, that includes a jersey, headband and socks.

Every athlete will be partnered with a Buddy to assist during the game. We encourage you to sign-up a Buddy for your athlete. We are always looking for volunteers and can find a Buddy for your athlete as well.

Teams will meet on Saturday, April 22 for a meet and greet with the coaches and team mates, then have a team practice rotating through various stations.

The following Saturday starts game play! Let's get this season underway!

Swim Team

With a variety of zero entry pools, chair lifts and versatle locations, the Miracle League has a swimming league for individuals ages 5-30 with special needs. All registered swimmers will receive a uniform and Miracle League swag! Every swimmer will be provided a life jacket and be partnered with a Buddy to assist during the swim practices and meet. We encourage you to sign-up a Buddy for your athlete. We are always looking for volunteers and can find a Buddy for your athlete if needed. Swim Teams will be formed by swimming pool location. Click the registration button below, choose the swimming pool that is most convenient for you to travel to. Locations in proximity may be combined if there is a low number of registrations. Swimmers will practice with their swim coach on a variety of events in the pool for four weeks, leading up to the swim meet on the fifth week at Aley Pool.

Bowling

Thanks to our friends at Seneca Bowl, Miracle League offers a league for individuals ages 5-21, with special needs to join a bowling team with their peers. Seneca Bowl provides bumpers for every lane and equipment to assist with bowling. All registered bowlers will receive a team jersey and awesome swag. Every athlete will be partnered with a Buddy to assist during the game.

What makes this league unique is:

Every player on every team bowls, no one is excluded
Community children and adults volunteer to serve as "Buddies" assisting the athletes
Each team and each player wins every game
Medals are awarded at the ends of the season to every athlete during a pizza party!

Become a Buddy Volunteer

Interested in volunteering? Sign up to be a Buddy! We are looking for individuals ages 10+ that want to see our athletes be successful, have a great time while playing and be a great cheerleader while volunteering.

Become a Coach

The Coach's role in the Miracle League is an extremely important one, and we need passionate people to lead our athletes! If you possess any or all of the requirements below, we encourage you to apply!

Dedicated: Coaches must be available for every practice and every game day. Your players are counting on you!
Enthusiastic: Encouragement is key in this league! Your job is to mold confidence in your athlete. They will know they can succeed because you believe in them.
Experience is not required but a bonus. Through our athletes may require adaptions to play the game, they need love and support like any other athlete to succeed.
Great Communication Skills: You are the contact person for your team. You will be responsible for communicating with parents about the practice schedule, game times and special events throughout the season.
Problem Solver: Complications can arise on game days. You must be able to solve any issues with poise and respect for all parties involved.
If you are extremely competitive, this may not be the league for you. The rules of our game are more relaxed than other leagues and we don't want our athletes to feel pressure to succeed at unrealistic standards.

The times for your team's game will differ every week so please be available between 9:30 am - 1:30 pm every Saturday there is a game. When registering your athlete online, you can also indicate you would like to coach. Questions about coaching, please email Daniel Sack at dsack@wichita.gov.
