Racial Equity and Leadership (REAL) in Our City

Vision

Elected officials, city staff and community leaders commit time and space to listen to the lived experiences of community members from all racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and intentionally consider these experiences in city decision-making processes.

Mission

Strengthen local leaders' knowledge and capacity to eliminate racial disparities, heal racial divisions, and build a more equitable community.

Strategic Goals

  • Education and awareness for all city staff and elected officials
  • Promote racial healing through the action of connecting with community leaders and members
  • Ensure substantive improvements as evidenced through data collection and performance measurement
